Visa Information – July 2025 Update

Georgia continues to offer one of the most open and expat-friendly visa regimes in the region. Here’s what you need to know as of July 2025:

Citizens from over 95 countries can enter Georgia without a visa and stay for up to 365 days. This includes:

  • EU countries

  • United States

  • United Kingdom

  • Canada

  • Ukraine

  • Russia

  • Israel

  • Turkey

  • Many Gulf countries (e.g., UAE, Saudi Arabia)

  • South American nations like Brazil and Argentina

You only need a valid passport (with at least 6 months before expiration) to enter.

  1. Attention! The information provided by you will be checked at the border crossing points of Georgia. If you provide incorrect information your e-Visa will be invalid and you will be refused to enter Georgia.

  1. In case of dual citizenship, please, choose the country according to the travel document/passport which you will be using for traveling to Georgia.

If your country is not on the visa-free list, Georgia offers an easy-to-use electronic visa (e-Visa) platform. You can apply online and typically receive approval within 5 business days.

  • Cost: ~$20–$40 depending on visa type

  • Valid for short-term stays (30 or 90 days)

Temporary Residence Permits

If you're planning to stay longer than one year, you can apply for a residence permit, usually under the following categories:

  • Work residence permit

  • Freelancer or entrepreneur permit

  • Study permit

  • Family reunification

  • Property ownership (Min. $100,000 value)
